Hello Family – it’s been awhile!  Life got a bit crazy for a minute … health stuff, family stuff, faith stuff.

I’ll do my best to get back on track. My goal is to use this blog not only as a personal outlet, but as part of my current ministry.

As most of you know, I started a men’s ministry several months back – by the grace of God, that outreach has touched the hearts of several men.  Broken Man Ministries is still going strong, despite a few road bumps and moving into a new phase.

God also gave me an opportunity to enroll into seminary courses recently at Trinity College of the Bible & Theological Seminary.  I’m working on finishing my bachelor’s degree right now in Interdisciplinary Studies – I hope to be done by March.  Then I’ll start working on my Master’s degree in Systematic Theology.

Pastor Dee, the Senior Pastor at Jefferson Baptist Church (JBC), also agreed to start mentoring me recently & that led to an opportunity to start preaching at a small, non-denominational community church just outside of Stayton. I’m now Pastoring at Mt. Pleasant Community Church.

I’m still in a bit of a journey/fight with my health … I had a cardiac procedure back in October. The surgeon is not convinced it was successful, so I get a heart monitor on Monday for a couple of weeks, then I’ll follow up with him in January to talk next steps – hopefully trying to wean me off of cardiac meds in February, to see how I do. If I end up having reoccurring episodes of AFib or other cardiac arrhythmias, I’ll either have to go through the procedure again or consider getting a pacemaker. Neither of those options are appealing to me, so I could use prayer, that the procedure indeed was effective.

And, it appears I’m not out of the woods with the Thyroid Cancer.  My 6-month scans came back as abnormal, so I’m on a regular 6-month follow-up schedule. Meanwhile I’ve been having some pain and discomfort on the side where the tumor was removed.  So, I was recently seen by the ENT surgeon & scoped.  The scope findings were negative, but I’m still having symptoms, so I’m headed to a head CT after the first of the year.  I could use prayers that there would be no cancer, and for wisdom/discernment for the ENT team to identify the issue.

God is good, always – yesterday, today and tomorrow!

1 John 4: 9

“This is how God showed His love among us: He sent His one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him.”
